Latanoprost ophthalmic drops are prescribed by vets to treat glaucoma and ocular hypertension (a condition which causes increased pressure in the eye). It lowers pressure in the eye by increasing the flow of natural eye fluids out of the eye.
Uses
Latanoprost ophthalmic solution is indicated for the reduction of elevated intraocular pressure in patients with open-angle glaucoma or ocular hypertension.
Possible Side Effects
Blurred vision, burning and stinging , conjunctival hyperemia, foreign body sensation, itching , increased pigmentation of the iris, punctate keratitis, and upper respiratory tract infection/nasopharyngitis/influenza.
Drug & Food InteractionsThe combined use of two or more prostaglandins, or prostaglandin analogs including latanoprost ophthalmic solution is not recommended.
Precautions
Pigmentation: pigmentation of the iris, periorbital tissue (eyelid) and eyelashes can occur. Iris pigmentation likely to be permanent. Eyelash Changes: gradual change to eyelashes including increased length, thickness and number of lashes. Usually reversible.

Storage InstructionsProtect from light. Store unopened bottle(s) under refrigeration at 36°F - 46°F. Once a bottle is opened for use, it may be stored at room temperature up to 77°F for 6 weeks.
